US Congress approves bill to provide financial assistance worth $47 bn to

Washington/Kyiv: The US Congress approved a bill providing $47 billion in aid to Ukraine. This includes arms supply and other financial support. After this approval, the amount of provision made by the United States for the conflict in Ukraine has gone up to $100 billion. Earlier, the US Congress had approved providing $65 billion in aid to Ukraine.

On Wednesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a quick tour of the United States. At this time, he met US President Joe Biden, held discussions with him, and addressed the US Congress. The President of Ukraine claimed that the financial assistance and arms supply to Ukraine by the United States is not ‘charity’ but an investment for global security and democracy. During the joint press conference addressed by Biden and Zelensky, the United States announced a new $1.85 billion arms supply to Ukraine, including Patriot missiles.

The United States has followed this up with an announcement of financial aid of $47 billion to Ukraine, indicating that the conflict in Ukraine will continue for a long time. Secretary of State Antony Blinken backed the new aid, saying the United States would stand by Ukraine as long as necessary. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed the new assistance from the United States and thanked the US Congress. Russia has strongly reacted strongly to the new provision by the US Parliament. Anatoly Antonov, Russia’s ambassador to the United States, alleged that the United States is playing a ‘proxy war’ against Russia through various factors such as funds provided to Ukraine, weapons, intelligence and information provided by satellites.

Meanwhile, the United States has expressed deep concern over the growing involvement of the private Russian defence company Wagner Group in the Ukraine conflict. US agencies have also claimed that this company bought weapons from North Korea for the Ukraine conflict.
