Jeddah: Israel is preparing to build 4,000 new settlements in the West Bank province of Khalil. The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Arab League fired salvos of criticism on Israel for this. The OIC has demanded that the UN Security Council take ‘Serious Cognisance’ of the Israeli actions.
Last week, the Israeli government announced plans to build 4,000 settlements for Jewish refugees in the Yatta region in the West Bank. The Israeli government announced attacks on Israeli civilians and threats issued by Hamas. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League have expressed annoyance over Israel’s decision.
The OIC has accused Israel of blatantly violating human rights and international law by building settlements for Israelis in Palestinian territory. The groups under Saudi influence demanded that Israel immediately halt construction in the West Bank and Jerusalem. The Arab League has warned that Israel, building settlements in the West Bank, will have to face dire consequences.
