Israel blocked peace talks with Palestine as conflict between them escala

Tel Aviv: As efforts for a Tel Aviv ceasefire continue, fresh rocket attacks from Palestine have hit Israel. Israeli Defense Forces officials reported that 937 rockets and mortars have been fired at our country since Tuesday. There have been reports of rockets landing in Jerusalem as well. These attacks are being retaliated strongly by Israel. There are reports that a major leader of Islamic Jihad has been killed in an Israeli airstrike. It is also said that 32 people, including children, were killed in these airstrikes in Palestine.

Moreover, Islamic Jihad is known as the largest organization of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip after Hamas. It was Islamic Jihad that started the rocket and mortar attacks on Israel. After this, Israel killed the senior commander of this organization. Earlier, Israel killed three commanders of Islamic Jihad in an airstrike. After this, on Friday, another commander of this Palestinian organization was killed in an Israeli airstrike. But its details were not revealed. Amid heavy airstrikes by Israel, Islamic Jihad appeared to challenge Israel by firing 937 rockets and mortars since Tuesday.

Furthermore, concern is being expressed worldwide that the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Authority will take a more frightening form. There were reports that Egypt had started talks to end the conflict. But after the new attack from Gaza Strip, Israel has stopped this peace talk. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered defense forces to launch more intense attacks targeting Islamic Jihad. Israeli officials are sending a ‘message’ to Hamas to stay out of the conflict, saying that an Islamic Jihad commander has been killed in an Israeli strike, a warning from Israel to Hamas. Israel Defense Forces officials suggest that if Hamas also attacks Israel, Hamas leaders will be targeted.

Along with Palestinian organizations like Islamic Jihad, Hamas, Hezbollah based in Lebanon and Syria, and other pro-Iranian terrorist organizations, Israel could likely be targeted at the same time these organizations had threatened that Israeli cities would be razed to the ground if these attacks were carried out. The Israel Defense Forces seem to have beefed up their security system keeping this possibility in mind. However, Israeli air defence systems have not been able to intercept all rocket attacks from Gaza. Israeli authorities have acknowledged this. In such a situation, Israel seems to be preparing to carry out massive airstrikes that will end the capabilities of the Palestinian organizations attacking them.
