Iran is installing 1,000 centrifuges in its nuclear projects: Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz

Jerusalem: Israel has warned that Iran is forging ahead with its nuclear program under the pretext of negotiations being held with the United States and European countries. Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz warned that Iran is installing 1,000 centrifuges in its nuclear projects, including Natanz nuclear project. The Israeli Defence Minister claimed that the Iranian nuclear program and the Iranian drones are also posing a major challenge to Israeli security.

Earlier, while speaking at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), the Israeli Defence Minister pointed to the changes in the Iranian nuclear program.

Defence Minister Gantz warned that Iran has gathered comprehensive knowledge regarding research, manufacture and use of advanced centrifuges. Besides, it is just a few weeks away from getting the materials it needs to build an atomic bomb. Israeli Defence Minister has claimed that Iran obtained the information while negotiations were being held with the United States and European countries. Iran began installing a thousand centrifuges in its nuclear facilities during the same period. The Israeli Defense Minister pointed out that the task will be completed in the next few weeks. Gantz noted that Iran had also begun installing centrifuges in the basement of the Natanz nuclear plant. Gantz also pointed to the growing threat of Iran-linked terrorist groups in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and the Gaza Strip. Two Iranian drones were shot down in Iraq in February this year. Defence Minister Gantz claimed that the drones were shot down while assisting terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip or the West Bank.

Gantz said that the drones belonged to Iranian Revolutionary Guards. Gantz has appealed to the United States not to remove the Revolutionary Guards from its list of terrorist organizations. Israeli Defence Minister reminded that Israel can shoot down Iranian drones even in Iraq.
