Record rise in immigrant influx in the US even before withdrawal of ‘Title 42′

Washington: 234,088 immigrants entered the United States through the Mexico border in April. As per the US agencies, such a large number of immigrants have entered the United States within a month for the first time in 22 years. As per the orders issued by President Biden, the Law ‘Title 42’ for preventing immigrant influx will soon be repelled. US media have claimed that the immigrant influx will intensify after that.

Record rise in immigrant influx even before withdrawal of ‘Title 42’As per the information shared by the US border security department, there was an increase of 5.8% in the immigrant influx in the last month. 221,303 immigrants entered the United States through the Mexico border in March. US agencies point out that the number has increased to 234,088 in April. US media have claimed that this increase is because the Ukrainian refugees turned to the United States after being disappointed with Europe.

Former US President Donald Trump had introduced the Title 42 act, saying that if the immigrant influx is stopped, the US citizens can be provided better healthcare facilities. But Title 42 was retained given the Coronavirus pandemic.

But in the last few days, President Biden has announced that this law also will be repelled. It is claimed that there will be no major restrictions on the immigrants coming into the United States after the law is repelled. The US agencies express fears that the number of immigrants coming through the Mexico border will rise to 18,000 per day in that scenario. Fears are also being expressed to increase further the strain on the US healthcare systems and other health facilities.
