Iran embarks on the development of anti-aircraft laser, announces Iranian

Tehran: Iranian Deputy Defence Minister Qasim Taghizadeh announced ‘Iran has started manufacture of ‘Laser’ to shoot down airplanes and drones. Soon Iran will be equipped with these anti-aircraft laser systems. This anti-aircraft laser system will serve as the air defence system.’ it is claimed that this announcement by Taghizadeh is a warning for the United States and Israel.

Iran, already at the receiving end of international sanctions because of its controversial nuclear and missile programs, has taken a significant step in weapons development. Deputy Defence Minister Taghizadeh claimed while talking to a Chinese news agency that Iran had acquired the technology for the manufacture of the Lase Cannon. Taghizadeh said that this would make it easy for Iran to target enemy aircraft and drones.

The Iranian Deputy Defence Minister infirmed that the preliminary tests of this cannon have been successful and the manufacture has been initiated. Taghizadeh also claimed that Iran has equipped the surface-launched missiles, with super-advanced technology. Taghizadeh said that the range and precision of these missiles has been improved because of the digital mapping technology installed in them.

Taghizadeh said that Iran is also making efforts to develop surface to surface ballistic missiles capable of hitting the target with precision. Taghizadeh also claimed that Iran is among the five leading countries, in missile manufacturing. The Iranian missile program is very controversial and the United States has imposed comprehensive sanctions against the Iranian ballistic missile program. The Iranian media are claiming that the Iranian Deputy Defence Minister has issued a clear warning to the United States and Israel with the announcement of the Laser Cannon and Ballistic Missiles.

Three months ago, Iran had shot down a US drone, flying in the Persian Gulf region. President Trump had ordered the US military to initiate attacks on Iran. But President Trump withdrew the orders, at the last minute, saying that there will be mass casualties in this attack. But since the last few weeks, the United States has increased the deployment of military, fighter jets, bomber jets and Patriot air defence system in the Persian Gulf. In this scenario, the Iranian announcement regarding the Laser Cannon increases the tension in the region.
