While the differences intensify, the former Afghan military officials have issued this warning. Lt. Gen. Sadat declared that they would take arms against the Taliban regime. During an interview with an international news agency, Lt. Gen. Sadat announced, ‘The Taliban regime is a tyrant, and Afghanistan is deteriorating under the Taliban rule. My colleagues and I cannot keep quiet when atrocities are being showered on the Afghan soldiers, officials and girl students. Our objective will be to free Afghanistan from Taliban rule and establish democracy in the country. Our fight will continue till the objective is achieved.’

During the interview, Lt. Gen Sadat was asked, ‘Your fight will once again lead to bloodshed in Afghanistan, and despite this, you will engage the Taliban in a fight?’ But Sadat said that currently, there is no peace in Afghanistan. Sadat emphasised that there cannot be any future for Afghanistan unless a military challenge is posed to the Taliban. At the same time, Lt. Gen Sadat claimed, ‘We will welcome the liberal groups from Taliban. Former Afghan military officials challenge TalibanThey should join us in our fight. Because we are not opposed to the Taliban but their methods.’

The Afghans loving their country are coming forward to donate their wealth to our fight. Sadat said that the fight would be built on the support of these people. At the same time, Sadat severely criticised the Westerners advising that the Taliban should be given time to establish order. It is easy to advise sitting away. But suffering the Taliban atrocities is a different thing. It is evident from the claims made by Sadat that another conflict is about to be sparked in Afghanistan.

If the Afghan military scattered following the Taliban attacks reunites and the groups opposed to the Taliban support the military, the Taliban regime could be under threat. A challenge posed to the Taliban regime could also have major repercussions in Afghanistan and its neighbouring countries.
