US has committed a blunder by instituting inquiry against Israel – Israeli Defence Minister warns

Jerusalem: The US Department of Justice has ordered an inquiry into the death of female reporter Shireen Abu Akleh. Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz warned that the United States had committed a serious mistake by initiating an inquiry into the incident, despite a detailed Israeli investigation. At the same time, Gantz lambasted that Israel will not cooperate with the United States in any way for this inquiry. On the 11th May, Israeli soldiers were taking a counter-terrorism action in Jenin city in the West Bank. Shireen Abu Akleh, a female journalist from the Al-Jazeera channel, recorded the action. The journalist died during the shootout. The Israeli military was blamed for the killing. In September, following a detailed investigation, Israel accepted that Shireen Abu Akleh’s death was caused due to an error on the part of an Israeli soldier.
