Israel should provide air defence system to Saudi: American-Israeli strategist Joel Rosenberg

Jerusalem – Israel should supply an air defence system to Saudi Arabia in exchange for complete peace and cooperation agreement. A renowned American-Israeli researcher suggested that the Israeli expertise in the air defence systems will prove beneficial for Saudi to counter the attacks by Iran and the Houthi rebels from Yemen. This researcher claimed that Israeli technology and Saudi funds could result in the manufacture of the world’s best air defence system.

Israel, Saudi, US, Houthi Rebels, Saudi Arabia,Joel Rosenberg imparted the information regarding the attacks by Iran and the Houthi rebels on Saudi in an article written for an Israeli daily. In the last five years, more than 4,100 attacks have been launched by the Houthi rebels on Saudi Arabia. These include more than 1,000 ballistic missile attacks. More than 100 Saudi citizens have been killed in these attacks and hundreds have been injured. At the same time, the researcher pointed out that the Houthi rebels who have grown in confidence with these developments are openly threatening to attack Saudi.

Rosenberg accused US President Joe Biden ignored Saudi’s security in this scenario. After taking over the reins of the United States, Biden had instructed to stop the defence supplies to Saudi. A few months ago, the United States withdrew three Patriot air defence systems from Saudi. Taking advantage of this, the Houthi rebels increased the intensity of missile, rockets and drone attacks on Saudi. This has made Saudi more vulnerable on the security front.

The researcher has suggested that Israel, a leader in the air defence systems, should pass on the benefit of its expertise to Saudi. Israel will have to establish diplomatic cooperation with Saudi on United Arab Emirates and Bahrain lines. Rosenberg claimed that even Israel would benefit from this internal security front. Therefore, Rosenberg suggested that Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett present a proposal to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.
