United Nations has learned nothing in the past 80 years

New York: Israeli envoy to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, explicitly rebuked that ‘Some of you have learned nothing in the past 80 years. Some of you have forgotten why this body was established. So, I will remind you. From this day on, each time you look at me, you will remember what staying silent in the face of evil means.’

Moreover, Erdan alleged that the UN is supporting Hamas, which is the present-day Nazi army and that the Iran regime is the Nazi regime. Thus, the UN, which is supporting Hamas terrorists who attack Israel, should condemn Hamas. Otherwise, Israel’s representatives will proudly wear the ‘Star of David’ on their chests in the UN in the future in memory of the atrocities against Jews, Erdan reprimanded. Besides, the Israeli Ambassador wore a badge of ‘Star of David’ on his chest while delivering the speech.

Also, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres last week supported Hamas’ attacks by stating it did not happen in a vacuum. In response, there was a sharp response from Israel. However, after this, Guterres revealed that his remarks were misrepresented. Guterres said that he was shocked by the allegation made against him and said he did not support Hamas, which launched terrorist attacks on Israel. However, Israel rejected Guterres’s clarification by saying that stating that Hamas attacks did not happen in a vacuum supports this attack.

In such a situation, Israel’s Ambassador Gilad Erdan on Monday again called on whether the United Nations has forgotten the purpose of establishing the UN and appealed that the United Nations should not fail in recalling its responsibilities. Apart from this, Erdan denounced the UN Security Council’s disturbing silence on the October 7 attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists.

Furthermore, Erdan demanded that the UN, which supports Hamas, should publicly condemn the attacks of this terrorist organisation. He said Israel’s representatives would continue to wear the ‘Star of David’ at the UN as long as the UN does not condemn Hamas. Nonetheless, Hitler’s Nazi Germany committed severe atrocities on the Jews during the World War II. In addition, the Nazi army had tortured the Jews then and forced them to wear the badge ‘Star of David’. Recalling this, Erdan claimed that a terrorist organisation like Hamas is the Nazi army. Apart from this, Erdan alleged that the Iranian government is the mastermind behind the attack by Hamas on Israel, and this government is similar to that of the Nazi Germany. Hence, Erdan announced that Jewish officers and employees, the victims of atrocities, will wear the ‘Star of David’ badge on their chests until the UN condemns Hamas.
