Six terrorists killed in an Israeli operation in the West Bank.

Jerusalem/ Ramallah – Israel confirms that six terrorists were killed in an operation by the Israeli army in the West Bank, including a Hamas terrorist who killed Jews about ten days back. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed this. Subsequently, rockets were launched from Gaza into Israel, which did not cause any damage. The US has supported the actions of Israel on the pretext of self-defence. The Arab League and Jordan have criticized Israel.

Last month, on February 26, two Jews were brutally murdered in the West Bank city of Huwara. Israeli security agencies termed this a terrorist attack and initiated tracking the terrorist involved in the last ten days. On Tuesday, a terrorist named Abdel Fattah Hussein Kharousha reportedly hid with other armed terrorists in the West Bank city of Jenin. Israeli security agencies moved in and killed six terrorists, including Kharousha.

The Israeli army released a video of these terrorists trying to escape using an ambulance.

Among those killed in operation were terrorists from Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Islamic Jihad and Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade Kharousha in the West Bank. As Israeli security forces prepared to enter Jenin to arrest Kharousha, extremists threw stones at them. And the Islamic Jihad terrorists fired at the Israeli soldiers taking cover from the crowd. Israeli security quickly used drones and helicopters to search the terrorists hiding in the crowd. The Israeli agencies informed that the extremists destroyed a few drones.

Within a few hours of the operation in Jenin, rockets were fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip, which did not fall in Israel’s territory, causing no damage. There was another incident of a bomb explosion close to an Israeli security team. The Israeli authorities have confirmed no damage was caused. However, the Israeli authorities have issued a high alert. Security deployed in Westbank and Jerusalem has increased due to the prevailing escalated tensions on the borders of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian government in the West Bank and the Fatah party have criticized the actions of the Israeli security forces. He also demanded that the US should intervene and put pressure on Israel. But the US Biden administration has said that the action taken by Israel were in self-defence, hence justified. However, there is a strong reaction from the Arab countries. A few days ago, Jordan, which established a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian government in the West Bank, expressed anger about Israel’s action. The Arab League has released a statement condemning Israel’s actions.

Meanwhile, attacks on Israel have started from the West Bank for the past few months. Israeli analysts claim that the growing influence of new terrorist groups in the region is challenging for Israel.
