Tel Aviv: Qatar has warned that Hamas and Islamic Jihad should remain calm and not launch rocket attacks on Israel from the Gaza Strip until the completion of the Football World Cup in Qatar. Fuel-rich Qatar is the most important Gulf country providing financial support to the Gaza Strip. Qatar’s royal family has good relations with Hamas leaders in Gaza. Although Qatar and Israel do not have official political relations, it has been revealed earlier that the two countries cooperate. In 2018, Qatar provided tens of millions of dollars in aid to Gaza Strip power projects, infrastructure, local administration costs, and thousands of Palestinians, only with Israel’s permission. Qatar also took the initiative to negotiate a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

According to an Israeli news agency, Qatari Ambassador Mohammad Al-Emadi visited Gaza Strip and met with the leaders of Hamas and then Islamic Jihad before the start of the FIFA football tournament. During this visit, Al-Emadi warned the leaders of Hamas and Islamic Jihad not to launch rocket attacks on Israel until the competition in Qatar continued. An Israeli news agency claimed that Qatar was worried that if Hamas or Islamic Jihad launched rocket attacks on Israel, the world’s attention would be diverted from the competition.

In the last year and a half, Hamas and Islamic Jihad have rained thousands of rockets on Israel from Gaza. In response, Israel also launched heavy attacks on the locations of these two terrorist organizations. Supporters of Hamas and Islamic Jihad have increased even in the West Bank since the conflict. Over the past year, attacks by extremists in the West Bank on Israeli civilians and security forces have increased. Two days ago, Israeli security forces in the West Bank killed two people in an operation. This includes terrorist Naeem Zubaidi, a senior commander of Islamic Jihad.

After this, it was predicted that rockets would start raining on Israel from Gaza once again. It was claimed that Hezbollah in Lebanon would also support these rocket attacks from Gaza. If this happens, Israeli analysts warned that Iran would also jump into the massive conflict that would be sparked between Israel, Gaza and Lebanon. But it is revealed that, even before this, Qatar has instructed Hamas and Islamic Jihad to remain silent.

Israeli analysts are pointing out that this football tournament in Qatar will end on December 18, after which rocket attacks may start again on Israel from Gaza.
