Orders issued to arrest opposition party leaders in VenezuelaIn 2019, the Venezuelan parliament refused to recognize Nicolas Maduro as President. Since then, enormous political and social instability has arisen in Venezuela and warnings have been given that the country is moving towards chaos. However, Maduro has refused to leave power and has accused the opposition of being a gang of thieves. Against this backdrop, the opposition parties have launched a strong campaign for next year’s presidential election.

Last week, Dinorah Figueroa was elected as the new leader of the opposition. He has signalled to intensify the fight to topple Maduro’s regime.
