Benjamin Netanyahu elected as Israel’s PM for the sixth time

Jerusalem: On Thursday afternoon, Benjamin Netanyahu was declared Prime Minister of Israel after a vote in the Israeli Parliament. 73 out of 120 members voted in support of Netanyahu. It included members of the fundamentalist group in Israel.

After taking over as prime minister, Netanyahu clarified that he would prioritize curbing Iran’s nuclear program and getting more Arab countries to join the Abraham Accords. Netanyahu also indicated that a decision would soon be made regarding the West Bank refugee settlements.

Furthermore, Russian President Vladimir Putin immediately sent a message to congratulate Netanyahu. Also, Putin claimed that the cooperation between Russia and Israel would increase. US President Joe Biden expressed hope that Netanyahu would resolve the issue of bi-nationalism. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated Netanyahu.
