Tel Aviv: If a war breaks out between Israel and Hezbollah soon, this time, there will be a strong response from the Israeli army. Israel’s guns will roar and thousands of shells will be fired at Lebanon daily. It will not be easy for Hezbollah to assess the lethality of the Israeli army, warned a senior Israeli military officer. A few days ago, Iran had threatened to launch major attacks on Israel in collaboration with Hezbollah. This reaction seems to have come from Israel.
The ten-day exercise of Israel’s army has begun. Army guns are being fired in this practice of the Artillery Department. Besides, while speaking with a news channel, Lt. Col. El-Shai Cohen said that the soldiers of this artillery division are being deployed for training. He imparted this information about his soldiers’ preparation while talking to the local news channel. Lt. Col. Cohen informed that Israel’s artillery department had made major changes in its firepower, precision target penetration technology and speed by studying the events of history.
Moreover, Cohen claimed that the artillery division would play an important role in the next war. By saying that it will not be easy for anyone to assess the lethality of Israeli artillery, Cohen has warned Hezbollah and Hamas, as well as Iran-affiliated terrorist organisations in Syria. In more direct terms, Israeli army guns are ready for conflict against any enemy, including Hamas. But Israel’s next war with Hezbollah will be very important, Cohen said.
In 2006, the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah lasted for 33 days. In this, Hezbollah launched heavy artillery and weapons attacks on the border of Israel. A year ago, Hamas fired hundreds of missiles at Israel from the Gaza Strip. Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah also threatened to fire more missiles at Israel. Israel warned that Lebanon would suffer the consequences of Hezbollah’s mistakes. Therefore, the importance of the warning given by a senior officer of the Israeli army has increased.
Furthermore, Hezbollah has erected at least 20 new patrol towers near the border with Israel. Israeli media claims that Hezbollah has built this patrol tower independently and has no connection with the Lebanese army. An international news agency revealed that a charitable organisation in Lebanon was working for Hezbollah. The United States has imposed sanctions on a Lebanese official who provided financial advice to Hezbollah.
