Hezbollah chief levels terrorism allegations against Saudi King Salman

Beirut – Hassan Nasrallah, the chief of Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah, has made serious allegations against King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia. Nasrallah has blamed King Salman’s regime for carrying out suicide attacks in Iraq and Syria. Reactions were received from Lebanon over the allegations levelled by Hezbollah. Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati has said that Hassan Nasrallah does not represent the Lebanese government and people.

The Lebanese government distanced itself from Nasrallah’s statements before Saudi Arabia and its allies reacted to the allegations made by the Hezbollah leader against the Saudi monarch.

Lebanese President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Mikati responded quickly, explaining that the Lebanese government did not agree with Nasrallah. Lebanese leaders have also said that friendship with Saudi Arabia is essential for the Lebanese people. Some Lebanese leaders have accused Nasrallah and his party Hezbollah of trying to strain relations between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.

A few days ago, King Salman of Saudi Arabia criticized Hezbollah and Iran. King Salman had accused Iran and Iran-backed Hezbollah of being the leading cause of instability in the Middle East. At the same time, King Salman had called on the Lebanese people to overthrow Hezbollah’s dictatorship.

Hezbollah, notorious for its anti-US and anti-Israeli activities, has been declared a terrorist by the European Union and the Arab League. The terrorist group is loyal to Iran and has been involved in the conflict in Iraq and Syria for the past few years. Israel had previously warned that Hezbollah’s actions in Syria pose a threat to Israeli security.
