North Korea conducts tests of ballistic missiles; Japan & South Korea governments criticise it

Seoul/Tokyo – North Korea tested a ballistic missile on Wednesday morning. Japan and South Korea criticised the test and called it extremely contemptible and added regional tensions. In the new year, the North Korean Dictator Kim Jong-un has announced that their focus will be on food security for the coming year. This announcement by the North Korean dictator, who has been threatening the United States and South Korea with war, was viewed as a significant change. However, within 24 hours, North Korea conducted a missile test, demonstrating no change in its policies.

But after Joe Biden took over as the US President, North Korea conducted nine missile tests in 10 months, including short and medium-range missiles. Japan and South Korea, the neighbours of North Korea, have strongly criticised the tests. Japan had accused North Korea of threatening the security of the region. Two days before the missile tests, at North Korea, Kim Jong-un, ballistic missiles,the new year’s address, the North Korean dictator announced to shift focus on food security as it was a question of survival posed before their country.

The media had hailed the North Korean dictator announcement as he did not mention missile tests, increasing nuclear capabilities or any threats to the United States. It was being said that this is the first time in the last ten years that the North Korean dictator adopted such a stand. After that, even the South Korean government had expressed willingness to sign an agreement for peace and a permanent end of the war. But with the test of the ballistic missile on Wednesday, North Korea has shown that there is no change at all in its policies.
