Analysts claimed that any attacks of the Houthi rebels could spark a direct conflict between Saudi Arabia and Iran soon. In such a situation, with mediation from China, discussions between Saudi Arabia and Iran were conducted. China claims the meeting was successful and would restore relations between the two countries. President Xi Jinping announced that China should assume a bigger role on the world stage with this successful mediation

Chinese media claimed that many controversial issues and conflicts in the middle east would end.
