Against this background, President Joe Biden, who is visiting the Middle East, met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman. The US President also tried to take Saudi into confidence regarding Iran, which has become a cause for concern for the Gulf allies of the United States. The White House announced that the United States and Saudi concurred on stopping Iran from becoming a nuclear state. Meanwhile, President Biden expected that Saudi and the other oil-producing countries should increase their fuel production given the Ukraine conflict.

The joint and the White House statement said that the United States and Saudi concurred that Iran should not be allowed to become a nuclear state.
