US records 2,494 Coronavirus deaths in 24 hours  

Washington: The Novel Coronavirus has claimed 2,494 lives in the United States in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths in the country to 53,694. The global death toll has now surpassed 203,500. In Europe, the count of the total fatalities has reached 121,527. Leaving aside the United States and Europe, more than 25,000 Coronavirus deaths have been reported from across the globe.

Nearly 2,500 lives were claimed due to the Coronavirus in the United States on Saturday while 50,000 new Coronavirus cases were reported from the country. The total number of Coronavirus infections in the United States has crossed 970,000. Furthermore, the total number of cases in the United States is believed to cross the one million-mark in the next 24 hours. So far, 5.3 million people have been screened in the United States.  

In the United Kingdom, 813 patients have died in the Coronavirus pandemic in the last 24 hours, and the total death toll has reached 21,000. As of now, 150,000 have tested positive for the Coronavirus in the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom will soon be increasing the speed of screening. Therefore, the number of cases is claimed, would rise more rapidly in the United Kingdom. In the last 24 hours, Italy reported 415 deaths while Spain 288. While the number of cases is on the decline in Spain, the government has allowed the citizens to go out for morning walks and is initiating steps towards gradually relaxing the lockdown.
