US and South Korea test 8 missiles in reply to North Korea

Seoul: North Korea created tension in the Korean region with a test of 8 short-range missiles on Sunday. The United States and South Korea retaliated against the North Korean provocation in the same language. The United States and South Korea tested eight ballistic missiles on Monday. At the same time, the US and South Korean military have appealed to North Korea not to increase tension in the region.

The ranges of these missiles, launched in the direction of the Sea of Japan, were between 110 to 670 kilometres.

In the last five months, North Korea conducted 17 missile tests. But this is the first instance of North Korea testing eight missiles on a single day. Some analysts claimed that the tests conducted by North Korea on Sunday could be a prelude to the nuclear test. In contrast, some analysts contended that these North Korean tests could be in retaliation for the war exercises held by the United States and South Korea in the last week.

The United States and Japan retaliated against this North Korean incitement through the military medium. Within the next few hours of the test, the United States and Japan organised a Joint Ballistic Missile Exercise. The United States and South Korea tested eight ballistic missiles on Monday. Militaries of both the countries announced that the missiles were from the Army Tactical Missile Systems category.

Meanwhile, North Korea has started a spate of missile tests since the beginning of the year. But the United States and South Korea had never retaliated against North Korea in this manner. As per the local news agencies, North Korea was answered in its own language after the change in government in South Korea.
