North Korea launches rocket in the Yellow Sea sector; South Korea calls for urgent security meeting  

Seoul: North Korea launched four rockets successively in the Yellow Sea sector on Sunday. The reason behind the North Korean action is not clear. But North Korea has started a spate of missile tests in the last few weeks, and South Korea is giving importance to these developments. Against this background, the South Korean President called for an emergency security meeting. South Korea, which is closely monitoring the activities of North Korea, issued an alert on Sunday. The North Korean military launched four rockets successively in the Yellow Sea region, between China and South Korea. The South Korean military said North Korea conducted this test to activate the Multiple Rocket Launchers in the Pyongan region.

Over the last few days, North Korea has tested short and medium-range missiles in the Japanese marine region. North Korea even tested a rocket banned by the United Nations. These North Korean missile tests have created tension in the Korean region.   

Whereas North Korea launched a long-range ballistic missile. But the missile exploded and disintegrated within a few seconds of launch. Reports were received that dictator Kim Jong Un handed out the death penalty to the officials responsible for the missile test. North Korea has also announced another long-range missile test in the second week of April.   

The south Korean agencies have been alerted given these North Korean missile tests. An urgent meeting of the South Korean Security Council was held on Sunday. It is claimed that North Korean missile tests and their threats were discussed during the meeting. There is a change of guard in South Korea. Yoon Suk Yeol will be taking over as the newly elected President of South Korea. Yeol is known for his anti-China and anti-North Korea stand.
