Seoul: The navies of the United States and South Korea held joint war exercises after four years. An aircraft carrier from the United States and destroyers from South Korea participated in the exercises. It is claimed that the joint war exercises between the United States and South Korea were held against the tensions with North Korea.
US aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, South Korean amphibious warship Marado, Sejong and other destroyers participated in the exercises. The exercises were held between the eastern border of the Filipino marine region and the Gulf of Okinawa Islands. The joint exercises between the US and South Korean navies have been cancelled since 2019.
But the exercises have restarted following the change of government in South Korea. At the same time, there is also a possibility of signing an agreement to provide a US military base in South Korea. North Korea has opposed the military cooperation between the United States and South Korea. Reports of North Korea preparing for a nuclear test were received only after this.
Meanwhile, after the exercises, the US and South Korean warships will proceed to the Hawaiian Islands. Multilateral war exercises are scheduled to be held in this region in a short time.
