Ukraine won't be able to use 'Starlink Internet' service for drone attacks

Washington: Elon Musk’s SpaceX warned that Ukraine would not be able to use the Starlink satellite internet service for drone attacks in the future. Gwen Shotwell, Head of SpaceX, said that the facility provided by SpaceX was for humanitarian purposes and that its use for attacks was wrong.

When the Russia-Ukraine conflict began, Russia launched massive attacks on telecommunications and internet services in Ukraine to disrupt it. Therefore, the ‘Starlink Satellite Internet’ service was made available to the Ukrainian defence forces to communicate with each other. Entrepreneur Elon Musk said he was providing technology to Ukraine even though he could not afford the cost of the facility. After that, due to some statements made by Musk about the war and peace process, there were clashes with the Ukrainian government.

Against this backdrop, the decision by Musk’s company to restrict the use of technology that has been critical to Ukraine’s military success is a notable event.
