Tehreek and IS have infiltrated Tajikistan

Kabul: Tajikistan, a country formed after the disintegration of the Soviet Union, has been infiltrated by the terrorist organisations Tehreek and IS. The developments have exposed this serious issue over the last four days. Russia had expressed a concern a few months ago that the irresponsible US military withdrawal from Afghanistan would threaten the security of Asian countries and terrorist organisations would infiltrate its neighbours. The events in Tajikistan indicate that Russian fears are becoming a reality.

Tehreek and IS have infiltrated TajikistanLast year, the Taliban appointed its commander governors for every province after taking over power in Afghanistan. Mahdi Arsalan, of Tajik origin, was appointed as the governor of the northern province of Badakhshan. Over the last few months, Arsalan recruited 250 youth of Tajik origin and announced the formation of ‘Tehreek-e-Taliban Tajikistan’ (TTT). Last year, members of the Arsalan group had threatened to invade Tajikistan and attack the military. After that, information regarding Arsalan was published in Tajik media.

Moreover, Mahdi Arsalan has links with the terrorist organisation ‘Jamaat Ansarullah’ from Tajikistan. The terrorists from ‘Jamaat Ansarullah’ joined hands with Arsalan following action by the Tajik government against ‘Jamaat Ansarullah’. Therefore, it is claimed that the TTT formed by Arsalan has the participation of the ‘Jamaat Ansarullah’ terrorists.

Tehreek and IS have infiltrated TajikistanIt has been exposed that a threat also exists from the IS terrorists to the security of Tajikistan and Ansarullah terrorists. Over the last few days, rocket attacks have been carried out on the military deployed on the Tajik-Uzbek border. Terrorist organisation IS-Khorasan has accepted the responsibility for these attacks. As per reports, IS has started instigating extremists against the government in the Tajik language after this. IS has started a social media channel, ‘Al-Azim-Tajiki’ for this purpose. It is claimed that IS is receiving a response from the extremists in Tajikistan.

Concerns are being expressed that the entry of terrorist organisations IS and Tehreek into Tajikistan is a significant threat to the central Asian countries. Tehreek and IS have infiltrated TajikistanEarlier the United States and the United Nations had warned that the security of the neighbouring countries is under threat given the Taliban rule in Afghanistan. These reports also pointed out that other terrorist organisations will flourish in Afghanistan under Taliban rule, which is a major threat to the neighbouring countries.

While the Taliban was taking control of Afghanistan, it was repeatedly observed that Russia was monitoring the developments very cautiously. Russia fears that extremism and instability from Afghanistan will cross the Russian borders through the central Asian countries. Russian media had suspected that the United States hastily withdrew from Afghanistan and allowed anarchy in that country with this very intention.
