Iran and Turkey sign eight MoU

Tehran: Iran and Turkey, who came together on the occasion of the Astana Meeting, signed 8 Memorandums of Understanding (MoU). Both the countries agreed to cooperate in various sectors like security, sports and development. The MoU was signed in the presence of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Iran and Turkey sign eight MoUIranian President Raisi claimed that the Iran visit of Turkish President Erdogan would give a new direction to improving bilateral relations. Both the Presidents agreed to take the bilateral trade cooperation to USD 30 billion. Whereas the Turkish President appealed that Iran should assist Turkey in action against the terrorists posing a threat to the security of Iran and Turkey.

President Erdogan justified the Iranian military action against the Kurdish rebels in Syria. President Erdogan demanded that Iran should also assist Turkey in similar activities. But the Turkish actions in Syria are not being supported by Iran and Russia.
