Russia showered drone and missile attacks on Ukrainian city in response to attack on Crimea Bridge

Moscow/Kyiv: Russia has retaliated strongly to the terrorist attack on the Crimea Bridge by Ukraine. On Monday night, Russia hit the major cities of Ukraine with drone and missile attacks. The Defense Ministry of Russia shared information that these attacks mainly targeted the city of Odesa and Mykolaiv in South Ukraine. Amid these ongoing drone and missile attacks by Russia, Ukraine tried to carry out drone attacks on the Crimean province again. Russian intelligence has made a statement to thwart this effort of Ukraine.

On Monday morning, Ukraine carried out a terrorist attack on the ‘Crimea Bridge’ with the help of US and UK agencies. During this, two people were killed, and one was seriously injured. The explosion in this attack caused extensive damage to the bridge, and a large crack formed on the bridge’s path. Besides, photographs have come to the fore of leaning on the way to the middle part of the bridge.

Moreover, the statement said the intelligence agencies of Ukraine targeted this bridge with the help of the Navy. Russia’s rapid reaction came to the fore on this attack on Ukraine. The Russian Foreign Ministry has accused Ukraine of attacking with the help of US and UK intelligence agencies. After the attack, Russian President Vladimir Putin organized a meeting of the Security Council. He issued a stern warning that the government of Ukraine would have to pay a heavy price. Putin had also said that Russia’s defence forces would take action.

Following this warning from President Putin, Russian systems targeted major cities in Ukraine. Suicide drone and missile attacks were carried out on Odesa, Mykolaiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv. The drone manufacturing centre in the port of Odesa was targeted. Also, Ukrainian military weapons stores and fuel supply sites in Odesa and Mykolaiv were attacked. The spokesman of the Defense Department provided information about the achievements of the targets set in these attacks by the Russian armed forces.

Furthermore, thirty-six suicide drones and six ‘Caliber’ missiles are said to be used for the attack. During these ongoing attacks by Russia, Ukraine tried again to carry out drone attacks on the Crimean province. Russia has claimed to have downed drones sent by Ukraine to different parts of Crimea on Tuesday. Furthermore, Russian intelligence has provided information about the downing of 28 drones in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s attack on the Crimea bridge on Monday is the second this year. Last October, Ukraine carried out a suicide blast on this bridge using a fuel tanker. After this, President Putin responded to these strikes by launching missile and drone attacks on Ukraine.
