The tensions between Russia and Ukraine have escalated and US leadership has been issuing consistent warnings of Russia invading Ukraine. There are claims of Russia deploying additional troops near the Ukraine border instead of reducing it. Currently, Russia has nearly 200000 deployments on the Ukraine border. Satellite Photographs and videos were published to support these claims. Russia is accusing that the statements issued by the western countries are an act of incitement.

Against this background, international diplomatic engagement has gained momentum. Last week, heads of the State of France and Germany visited Russia and held talks with President Putin. British Defence and Foreign Ministers also visited Russia. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson held a telephonic discussion with President Putin. President of France, Macron, has once again held a telephonic discussion with President Putin on Sunday. Along with Putin, the French President held talks even with US President Biden.

After talks with Putin and Biden, France informed that both the leaders have agreed to meet on the Ukraine issue. Russia and the United States have confirmed the announcement made by France. White House said that President Biden has agreed to meet President Putin only if Russia does not attack Ukraine.

Meanwhile, firing and shelling continue in the eastern part of Ukraine on the Russia-Ukraine border as per claims. As per the reports, Russian supporting rebels have sought support from Russia against the attacks from the Ukraine army. Russia has claimed that one of the military units of Ukraine attempted to attack the Rostov region of Russia. Russia said that five Ukrainian soldiers were killed in retaliation by Russia. Ukraine has dismissed the news as fake.
