Jerusalem – At least 78 rockets were fired at Israel on Thursday night from Gaza Strip, a Palestinian territory, and Lebanon. Israel’s Iron Dome air system was successful in intercepting these attacks. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that those who launch rocket attacks on Israel will be answered in their language. The Israeli army then targeted terrorist sites in Gaza and Lebanon. It is claimed that Hamas suffered heavy losses. Palestinian leaders have condemned Israel’s actions and demanded strict action against Israel by the US and European countries.

Hamas, a terrorist organisation in the Gaza Strip, has threatened to retaliate against Israeli police action in the compound of a prayer site in Jerusalem. On Wednesday, April 5, a special meeting was held in Beirut, Lebanon’s capital, led by Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh and other organisation leaders. The Israeli media is claiming that attacks against Israel were planned. On Thursday night, 44 rockets were fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip. Hamas is responsible for this.

But before the rocket attacks from Gaza, 34 rockets were fired from the southern border of Lebanon into the territory of Israel. Hamas is suspected of carrying out these attacks with the help of radicals among Palestinian refugees in south Lebanon. It has not been revealed how much support was provided to Hamas by Hezbollah, an Iranian-affiliated terrorist organisation in Lebanon, for these attacks on Israel. But it cannot be ruled out that Hezbollah is launching these attacks on Israel to help Hamas, which threatens to wipe Israel off the world map.

Moreover, Israel was not harmed by these rocket attacks. The Iron Dome air defence system intercepted most of the rocket attacks. Some of the rockets crashed in deserted places. But after midnight on Thursday, Israel targeted rocket targets in Gaza and Lebanon. Hamas positions are claimed to have been destroyed in the strikes in Gaza. It has been reported that the terrorists in Lebanon fled, leaving the rocket launchers behind. An Israeli newspaper has expressed concern that Hamas has foiled some of Israel’s attacks in the Gaza Strip.

Furthermore, Israel has been receiving rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip for two consecutive years. But for the first time in recent years, many rockets have been fired at Israel from Lebanon. The Israeli media has been pointing out that there were successive rocket attacks from Lebanon after the conflict that lasted for 34 days in 2006. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also took serious note of these attacks and warned to give a befitting response to the terrorists. The Israeli media is claiming that in the coming days, the Israeli system can kill the main leaders of Hamas, Islamic Jihad or other terrorist organisations.

Besides, two young women were killed and a third was critically injured in a terrorist attack on Jewish refugees in the West Bank on Friday. Meanwhile, the Arab League has warned that the Israeli police’s action at the place of worship could spark a conflict.
