European Union would end just like the Soviet Union – Hungarian PM Viktor Orban

Budapest: ‘Don’t pay too much attention to those shooting from behind something or from Brussels. As their forefathers ended up, so will they. This is where we were when the invading empires first attacked us. Even when the last invading empire falls, the people of Hungary will still be here. When it is time to endure adversity, we will show that endurance and succeed in overcoming adversity when it hits. Swords will also come out when the opportunity arises. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban criticised the European Union in these words, saying that we are capable of resisting oppression for a long time.

During the last century, Hungary was under the communist rule of the Soviet Union of Russia. The people of Hungary revolted against this regime in 1956. Various events were organised in Hungary on Sunday to commemorate the uprising in Hungary. At one of these events, Prime Minister Orban compared the European Union to the regime of the Soviet Union. At this time, he also made aware that Hungary would face crises like the influx of refugees and economic recession in the future. At this time, Orban also appealed that the government of Hungary is working together and can face the crisis, and the country’s people should also support it.

For the past few years, there have been constant disputes between Hungary and the European Union. Prime Minister Orban has opposed many of the coalition’s policies, including the issue of refugees. Even during the Russo-Ukraine conflict, the Hungarian prime minister has criticised the sanctions imposed by the federation. Hungary has also accused the federation of giving aid to Ukraine as further provocation to conflict.
