Houthi bases destroyed in Saudi action; Houthi rebels claim shooting down a US drone

Also, by warning Yemeni people to stay away from the Houthi bases, Saudi Arabia has hinted intensified attacks on the Houthi rebels that in the next few days.

Saudi and its allies mounted attacks on the prime locations in the Yemeni capital of Sana, which is under the control of the Houthi rebels. The Houthi rebels were hiding in the mountain region, in the Atan area, in western Sana. Saudi and its allies destroyed the bases in this region. The losses suffered in the attacks have not been disclosed. However, Saudi has clarified that the attacks on the Houthi rebels will continue.

This Saudi action seems to be in retaliation to the drone attacks.

It is after these attacks by Saudi that the Houthi rebels have reportedly launched drone attacks on the Abha airport. It is the same airport that is used to launch attacks on the Houthi rebels. Therefore, the Houthi rebels have seemingly attacked the airbase to target the Saudi air force. Following the Saudi attacks on the Houthi rebels and the retaliatory strikes by the Houthi rebels on the Saudi airbase, the situation in the region has escalated.

In the meantime, the Houthi rebels claim to have shot down a US drone patrolling in the Yemenis airspace. This action was taken by the Houthi rebels in the Dhamar province, on Tuesday night. The Houthi rebels claim to have destroyed an advanced MQ-9 Ripper drone of the United States. However, the United States and Saudi Arabia have not reacted to the report.
