In 2020, Israel signed the first Abraham Accords with the Arab countries of UAE and Bahrain through the mediation of the United States. All three countries claim that the agreement has helped to improve relations between Israel and Arab countries and establish cooperation at the commercial and military levels. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said two months ago that they would try to involve other Arab and Islamic countries in this cooperation.

Moreover, the Prime Minister of Israel had hinted that including Saudi Arabia in the agreement would end many disputes. Last month, during a meeting in Europe, information was also revealed that there were secret discussions between Israeli and Saudi officials. In addition, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal clarified that there was no objection to establishing cooperation with Israel. But before that, the Saudi had demanded that Israel resolve the Palestine issue.

After this, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan visited Israel and met Prime Minister Netanyahu. Officials of the Biden administration discussed with the Prime Minister of Israel that Israel should establish cooperation with other Muslim countries in Asia and Africa and include them in the Abraham Accord. Additionally, the Israeli newspaper reported that Israel’s Foreign Minister Eli Cohen started talks with Indonesia, Somalia, Mauritania and Niger about the Abraham Accords.

Furthermore, it said Germany was assisting Israel in cooperation with Mauritania and Niger. Apart from this, there were claims that Chad and Sudan could also join the Abraham Pact. Besides, Chad opened an Israeli embassy just last month. Foreign Minister Cohen was the first Israeli official to visit Sudan.
