Iran has been issued an ultimatum for the nuclear deal

Vienna: Officials from the European Union and Iran made another attempt to revive the 2015 nuclear deal in a meeting held in Vienna. European Union issued a warning in clear words to Iran ‘The Union has issued an ultimatum to Iran. Iran only has to inform its decision. There will be no changes to the proposal.’ Iran has not given any reaction on the issue. But the indicative development is that the fuel rates eased in the international market following the report.

Last week, the European Union appealed to Iran and the United States for negotiations regarding the nuclear deal. After that, the United States and Iran officials participated in the indirect meeting in Vienna. Josep Borrell, a Senior diplomat in the European Union, presented a proposal in front of the United States and Iran regarding the nuclear deal following the meeting. Borrell warned both countries that this was the final proposal. He further said that the United States and Iran should quickly respond to the proposal.

Borrell’s office issued a strict warning to Iran that all the issues about the nuclear deal have been addressed in the proposal. Now the US and Iranian leaders have to decide on the proposal. The answer has to be ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ as there will be no compromises on the terms of the proposal. Borrell suggested that the United States and Iran should take an early decision.

No details have been coming forwards regarding the terms of the proposal given by the Union. But international media claim that the Union has adopted a stern stand regarding the nuclear deal. An Iranian foreign ministry official has anonymously asserted that the proposal is under consideration. The concerned official also clarified that the Iranian decision and demands on the proposal would soon be announced. But it is being claimed that the Union is not willing for any changes to the proposal. A reaction to this new proposal is also expected from the Biden administration, keen on closing the nuclear deal.

Meanwhile, Israel has said that although the European Union has given indications of exerting pressure on Iran, Iran will not tolerate this ‘Fake Pressure’. As per Israeli officials, the chances of Iran accepting the Union’s proposal are negligible. But the failure of even this round of negotiations for the nuclear deal can become a major jolt for the Biden administration.
