India does not have a history of acquiring even an inch of any other country. India has never attacked any other country. But India wants to acquire enough strength so that no other country will challenge India. The Defence Minister said that India has therefore adopted the indigenous manufacture of weapons. India has developed a BrahMos missile in collaboration with Russia and this missile is believed to be the most advanced supersonic missile. Various versions of the BrahMos missile have been inducted into the Indian Army, Navy and Airforce.

It has been exposed that even China, along with Pakistan, is wary of the BrahMos missile in Indian possession. But India had started strong efforts to increase the number of BrahMos missiles in the Indian fleet. Moreover, having enough number of BrahMos missiles has become mandatory for India, especially given the escalating tension with China on the Line of Actual Control.

It is claimed that 100 BrahMos missiles will be manufactured, per year, after completion of the facility, for which the foundation stone was laid on Sunday. The Union government had started strong moves for this project. The Defence Minister informed that the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister made two hundred acres of land in just one and a half months, providing a significant impetus to the project.

This project in Lucknow will also create new employment opportunities. Five and a half thousand people will get employment. The Defence Minister expressed confidence that the supply chain required for the project would create another 10,000 employment opportunities.
