OIC meeting underlined the Indian influence over it, slams Pakistani media

Islamabad: – Pakistani media are criticising ‘Pakistan attempted to increase its importance by organising the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting regarding Afghanistan. But the meeting was a complete failure and Pakistan could not derive any benefit from it. Instead, Pakistan has realised the Indian capabilities in the meeting.’ During the meeting, the Pakistani journalists attacked Prime Minister Imran Khan, alleging that Saudi Arabia had warned Pakistan not to utter a word regarding Kashmir.

Pakistani National Security Advisor Moeed Yusuf had claimed, ‘Pakistan has achieved greatly by organising the OIC meeting. This has brought the Pakistani influence in front of the world.’ But there is a strong criticism that the meeting has backfired on Pakistan. Only 14 out of the 57 OIC member countries participated in the meeting at the outset. While the meeting was going on, Foreign Ministers of five central Asian countries participated in the conference organised by India and deputy Foreign Ministers of these countries came to the OIC meeting in Islamabad. The Pakistani journalists claimed that India had demonstrated its diplomatic influence on the Pakistan government. Moreover, Saudi Arabia had clearly warned Pakistan not to raise the Kashmir issue in the OIC conference. The Pakistan government clarified after the Pakistan media levelled these allegations.

The Pakistan government said that the OIC conference was for Afghanistan, not Kashmir. But the Pakistani journalists are asking that if the Palestine issue could be raised during this meeting for Afghanistan, why was the Kashmir issue left out.

People saying that the Imran Khan government has stretched the Kashmir issue to the extent of breaking relations with India and Pakistan will not gain anything from these aggressive policies labelled as traitors. But the disastrous effects of the policies adopted by the Pakistan government are becoming evident and Pakistan is only facing despair about the Kashmir issue. Moreover, one of the journalists expressed regret that the Pakistan government has miserably failed on all the other fronts.
