Moreover, Ambassador Igor appealed that India should intervene to stop the Russian attacks, if not for Ukraine, but at least for the security of more than 20,000 Indian Students studying in Ukraine. The Ukrainian Ambassador also reminded that peace-loving India has made huge contributions to world peace to date. At the same time, he appealed to India to stop the attack on Ukraine, praising the efforts made to avoid the war in Mahabharata and the political science practised by Kautilya.

Intellectuals like Chanakya were working on political science in India when European civilisations had been in the nascent stages. The Ukrainian Ambassador added that the time has come for India, the promoter of the non-aligned movement and not being a part of any groups and factions, to use its influence on the international level. Russian President Putin will listen to only a few leaders seriously. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is one of them. Therefore, we hope for this cooperation from India. Ukrainian Ambassador Igor claimed that if Modiji demands, the Russian President will listen.

Meanwhile, reports had been received that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be holding a telephonic discussion with Russian President Putin. Whereas, Foreign Minister Jaishankar held talks regarding the Ukraine issue with the European Union’s foreign policy chief and the United Kingdom, Poland, Romania, and Slovenia.

India has adopted a neutral stance on the Ukraine issue. But while speaking at the UN Security Council, Indian Ambassador Tirumurti demanded that the resolution of the problem should consider the security concerns of all the countries in the sector. Russia has repeatedly clarified that if Ukraine became a NATO member, it would pose a direct security threat to Russia. Therefore, Ukraine is faced with this crisis, repeatedly ignoring the Russian warnings. Ukraine, which was speaking the language of taking on Russia with US and NATO support, has started feeling the need for Indian support to stop the Russian attacks.
