East African countries to build independent military organisation

Nairobi: The east African countries of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Democratic Republic (DR) Congo have decided to come together to build an independent military organisation. The UN Peacekeepers have failed to end the terrorism raging for the last few decades in DR Congo. Military officials from the East African countries were present for the meeting. These African countries expressed a concern that there is no law and order in DR Congo. The United Nations had deployed peacekeepers to finish the terrorist and rebel organisations in DR Congo. DR Congo also has spent billions of dollars on this purpose.

But still, terrorist organisations could not be eliminated from Dr Congo. Instead, there was a shocking revelation that more than 120 terrorist and rebel organisations are active in DR Congo. These include terrorist organisations affiliated with IS. It is claimed that these organisations having their influence in the eastern parts of DR Congo, have their main centres in Uganda. East African countries to build independent military organisationAgainst this background, the East African countries agreed to form an independent military organisation.

In the past, the east African countries have appealed to terrorist and rebel organisations. The East African countries warned the terrorist and rebel organisations that they should lay down their arms and join the political process or be prepared to face military action. A meeting of the East African leaders will be held soon. The actions in DR Congo will be discussed in this meeting. Meanwhile, terrorism in African countries has increased considerably in the last few months. The African countries are dependent on the UN peacekeepers or the militaries of the European countries for actions against terrorism. Niger grappled with terrorism and has demanded the deployment of European special forces. But the east African countries seem to have realised that they cannot depend on anyone for their security.
