Semiconductors are a vital component in the defence, telecommunications, and electronic vehicles industries. Over the past year, rising tensions between China and the international community have affected supplies from China. Other countries are making efforts to fill this gap. The United States, in particular, is said to have taken the initiative.

Taiwan’s TSMC is considered to be a leading semiconductor company in the world. Therefore, world-class experts and analysts are demanding that Taiwan make aggressive efforts to replace China in the sector. President Tsai Ing-Wen’s proposal is an essential step in this direction.

President Tsai pointed out that Taiwan is investing in the United States and Japan in the semiconductor sector. In addition to these two countries, Taiwan is also keen to invest in other countries, said President Ing-Wen. The Taiwanese president said that along with the investment, the availability of technicians and skilled personnel for the semiconductor sector is also important. She also hinted that investment in countries like the US and Japan could be important for this.

Along with the United States and Japan, Germany in Europe has also proposed investment, in the semiconductor sector, in Taiwan. German sources point out that other facilities related to the semiconductor sector are available in Germany. Therefore, it is believed that Taiwan can invest in Germany along with the United States and Japan. Analysts claim that Taiwan’s growing investment and cooperation with other countries will significantly blow the Chinese position in the sector.
