China President Xi Jinping responsible for Uyghur genocide

London/ Beijing – ‘The senior official of the ruling People’s Republic of China and Chinese Communist Party perpetrated and took a comprehensive system of measures to commit Uyghur genocide in the Xinjiang province,’ blamed the UK’s special tribunal. While the talks to boycott Beijing Winter Olympics are in the air, this verdict by the UK tribunal seems significant. Besides, the United Nations has acknowledged this matter, and its report is terrific. However, China has disregarded this verdict of the London-based tribunal.

Since June, a lawsuit about atrocities against the Uyghurs has been going on in a London-based tribunal. Sir Geoffrey Nice is chairing this tribunal. In the last four months, documented evidence and testimonies of over 30 witnesses have been recorded for this case. Besides, the human rights experts have verified the accusations. Following that, on Thursday, while announcing the verdict Sir Geoffrey Nice declared that Chinese President Jinping’s government is primarily responsible for the Uyghur Genocide.

Moreover, the tribunal accused the Jinping government and the communist party of deliberately separating Uyghur children from their families and destroying their cultural identity. The Berlin-based World Uyghur Congress – WUC welcomed this verdict. Besides, the WUC chief said, ‘the declaration of this verdict by an independent body is a victory for us.’ The discussion about China being responsible for the Uyghur genocide happened earlier at the international level.

Earlier this year, the United States had declared China as the perpetrator of the Uyghur genocide in Xinjiang. Following that, the parliaments of Canada and the Dutch parliament had declared Uyghurs to have been murdered. In April, the United Kingdom had also cited that the Chinese Jinping regime is responsible for the Uyghur genocide. After this, the United States and the United Kingdom demanded to boycott the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022.

Over the last week, the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia have declared to boycott the Beijing Olympics politically. Infuriated by this, China threatened that these four nations would have to pay the price for it. Besides, this new verdict by the independent UK tribunal is bound to add to the pain of China.
