Biden administration indicates chances of reviving Iran nuclear deal

Washington/ Tehran: A month ago, a UK-based Arab news agency had revealed that the United States and Iran had come to terms with the nuclear deal. The agreement was finalised during the Vienna talks. But, the agency had mentioned that both nations awaited the right moment to declare the deal. Thus, that claim appears to be turning into reality. The US State Department cited that the nuclear deal could conclude if Iran conveys seriousness. Besides, the change in Biden’s administration’s policy to seek other alternatives against Iran if the nuclear deal didn’t conclude appears significant.

Earlier, a UK-based Arab news agency reported that the United States is prepared to withdraw sanctions against Iran as they had signed an interim nuclear deal for two years. The news also mentioned that the United States and Iran had agreed upon Iran’s preparedness to hand over its Uranium stockpile to Russia in exchange for this deal.

The United States and Iran have been responding positively to this nuclear deal in the last two days. Moreover, two days ago, the US State Department had declared that the nuclear deal was nearing its conclusion. While speaking with a foreign news agency on Thursday, the US State Dept spokesperson claimed that there has been a significant development in this deal. The spokesperson also said that the deal could conclude in the next few days if Iran shows seriousness in this decisive period.

Moreover, Iran has been indicating likewise opinion. The possibility of concluding this deal appears more now, said Iran’s top nuclear negotiator, Ali Bagheri. However, some specific issues about the nuclear deal have surfaced amid such announcements from the United States and Iran.

Furthermore, in this nearly 20 pages long report, the United States and its allies have demanded releasing Western civilians detained by Iran. Besides, it has also urged Iran to stop enriching Uranium. Consequently, the United States has agreed to release $7 bn from South Korean bank against these demands. The foreign news agency also claimed that the United States would gradually withdraw sanctions imposed on Iran oil and other domains.

However, neither the United States nor Iran has affirmed these reports. But, the Israeli media have responded to the reports of the US-Iran nuclear deal nearing conclusion. Israel had already clarified that it is not connected to this nuclear deal between the United States and Iran. Moreover, Israeli PM Bennett had warned to act against Israel to stop it from producing nuclear bombs. Thus, the Israeli press is reiterating this fact. The media has also cited that President Biden’s Democrat Party’s senior leader disagrees with this nuclear deal. The nuclear deal could draw strong reactions from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and other Arab nations. The Biden administration has already taken steps to crack down on this opposition. But, it may not succeed.
