Moscow : In the airstrikes launched by Russian fighter planes on the IS hideouts in Syria’s ‘Deir-Ez-Zor‘ area, 180 terrorists of IS terrorist organization, including two senior commanders have been killed. It is said that the terrorists of IS had conspired to carry out bloodshed on a large scale in the city, but the IS is said to have received a big blow owing to the Russian airstrikes. In the last month’s air attacks launched by Russia in Raqqa city, the IS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is said to have been killed.
According to the information published by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Russian fighter aircrafts carried out the attacks on the city of ’Deir Ez-zor’ on 6th and 8th June. The Russian intelligence agencies had obtained the information about the hideouts of the IS terrorists in the city, using drones. Acting on the information captured, the Russian fighter planes launched airstrikes on the city. During these airstrikes, 180 terrorists were killed and 14 military vehicles, earlier captured by IS, were also destroyed.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, among the terrorists killed were two field commanders, Belgian Abu Omar Al-Belgiki and Egypt’s Abu Yasin Al-Masri, It is claimed that Abu Belgiki is Abdelhamid Abaaoud, who was the mastermind of the terrorist attack carried out last year in Paris, the capital city of France; however this information has not been confirmed. But it is said that the airstrikes launched by Russia have caused a massive damage to the IS.
Last week, Russia’s Ministry of Defense had divulged details about the operations carried out in the Syrian city of Raqqa. It was claimed that more than 300 IS terrorists had been killed in the airstrikes carried out by Russia in the city of Raqqa in the last week of May. Russia had expressed a strong possibility that the IS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi might be one of those killed in the operation. Russia stated that the attacks were carried out when the IS terrorists had assembled there for a meeting.
The US military is investigating on the possibility expressed by Russia. But the US military said that the death of Islamic State chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi could not be confirmed. The IS has also not issued any clarification regarding this. However, the attacks carried out by Russia, are claimed to have broken the backbone of the Syrian terrorists.
