Western political and economic influence is ending

London: Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair warned that the biggest geopolitical change of this century would be brought about by China and not Russia. The western political and economic influence is ending. The world will polarise around two to three axes. He further said that the West needs to have a firm plan to counter China in the coming times.

Moreover, during a program organised on Saturday, Blair presented his views regarding the lessons learnt from the Russia-Ukraine and future policies. During his speech, he pointed out that the western world faces a threat from China, not Russia. Blair claimed that the action initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in Ukraine indicates that China cannot be trusted with rational actions in the coming times.

Blair pointed out that he does not want to say that China will launch an attack on Taiwan soon, but the western countries cannot plan their policies based on the assumption that China will not. He also reminded that China is currently the second superpower in the world. The former British Prime Minister warned ‘The Chinese strengths are different from Russia and this country is competing with the western countries and the United States on many fronts. China has surpassed the western countries on many technological fronts.’

There cannot be complete enmity with China. Furthermore, Blair said all the allies must formulate joint policies to keep a tab on China. Former Prime Minister Blair said that the stands of India and countries from Africa and the Gulf are vital in this matter.
