US itself is the biggest obstacle to the nuclear deal – Iranian foreign ministry criticises

Tehran: Nasser Kanani, spokesman of the Iranian foreign ministry, made vitriolic criticism ‘The nuclear deal signed in 2015 and Iranian relations with its neighbouring allies are two different issues. The United States is trying to cover up its failure by linking these two issues. Iran is prepared for the nuclear deal. But the United States itself is the biggest obstacle in the process.’ A few days ago, cooperation worth billions of dollars was established between Russia and Iran. The United States proposed that Iran should drop this cooperation in exchange for the nuclear deal. Infuriated by the proposal, Iran criticised the Biden administration.

This was the first foreign visit of the Russian President since the start of the Ukraine war. At this time, a huge agreement worth $40 billion regarding cooperation in the energy sector was signed between the two countries. Western media had claimed that the agreement signed by Iran with Russia after the failed visit of the US President to the Middle East became a slap across the face of the Biden administration.

Robert Malley, appointed as the US Special Representative for Iran by Biden, had threatened Iran. Malley had said that Iran must choose between the nuclear deal with the United States and relations with Russia. He also proposed that Iran would not benefit from the relations with Russia, which Western sanctions have cornered. Instead, if Iran signed the nuclear deal with the United States, economic relations will be rebuilt with neighbouring countries, Europe and the rest of the world.’

The MI5 chief claimed that Ayatollah Khamenei, the supreme religious leader of Iran, does not wish to sign the nuclear deal with the western countries.

Iran lashed out at the US proposal for a nuclear deal in exchange for Russian cooperation. Nasser Kanani, the spokesman of the Iranian foreign ministry, warned, ‘Iranian relations with its neighbours are not dependent on the 2015 nuclear deal and consent from the United States.’ Nasser blamed the United States, which has made such a deceitful proposal itself, as the biggest obstacle to the nuclear deal.

Meanwhile, Rafael Grossi, Director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, claimed that the Iranian nuclear program is progressing dangerously.
