US-Israel to practice attack on Iran nuclear projects

Jerusalem / Washington – The US and Israeli air forces will soon hold joint exercises to launch attacks on Iran’s nuclear projects. The announcement will be made after a meeting between the defence ministers of the two countries. Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz is leaving for the United States for this meeting. Israeli and the international media published this information citing a US official. Last month, Israel’s defence chief, General Aviv Kochavi, ordered the Israeli Air Force to conduct exercises to target Iran’s nuclear projects. The Israeli Air Force will soon conduct the exercise. In this scenario, it is being reported that Israeli and US fighter jets will practice attacks on Iranian nuclear projects.

The United States is participating in these exercises to be prepared if the Vienna talks fail and Iran continues to develop nuclear weapons. On the condition of anonymity, a US official told the international media that the exercise would be held in the Mediterranean Sea in mid-2022.

This will include F-35, F-16 and F-15 fighter jets from the US and Israeli air forces and surveillance aircraft and fuel carriers. These airplanes will take off from Israel and travel 1,000 kilometres towards the Mediterranean Sea. The exercise will be conducted considering the distance from Israel to Iran’s nuclear projects. Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz will leave for the United States on Thursday to discuss the issue.

Meanwhile, the Israeli and international media are quoting a US official as the source. But both the concerned countries have not made any official announcements. Before leaving for the United States, Israeli Defence Minister Gantz said that Iran threatened Israel’s existence and world peace. Defence Minister Gantz also informed that he would hold talks with US officials to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Therefore, the talks between the US and Israeli Defence Ministers are being viewed seriously.
