Israel should not rely US to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons

Las Vegas – Former US Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, said that Iran’s nuclear threat to Israel persists, and Israel should not wait for permission from the US to act against the threat. Haley also said that the US is not likely to approve any action against Iran. Last week, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett had indicated to initiate military action against Iran to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. In this scenario, Nikki Haley has sent out a message to Israel not to expect any cooperation from the US as the present Biden administration has a pro-Iran stand.

Nikki Haley launched an attack on the Biden administration through her social media posts. She mentions that Israel will not get any cooperation from the US in action against Iran. Haley appealed to the Israel supporter groups in the United States to adopt a stand against the Biden administration.

Haley said that if a political leader supports the destructive nuclear deal, opposes the US embassy to be moved to Jerusalem and supports anti-Israel campaigns. Pro-Israel groups in protest should oppose the head of state.

Iran is making aggressive announcements regarding the progress of its nuclear program. At the same time, Iran has refused to participate in atomic deal discussions in Vienna unless assured by the US. While Iran’s is getting aggressive, Nikki Haley is targeting the pro-Iranian policies of President Biden. The message delivered by Haley to Israel to not expect any cooperation from the United States is drawing global attention. Also, the appeal to the powerful pro-Israel lobby is a huge political statement.

China and Iran are posing challenges to the US, despite that the Biden administration has opted for a soft stance against them. Opposition leaders in the United States are consistently criticising the policies, which are creating uncertainty amongst the US allies. The United States is refraining from taking any action against Iran, which is close to making a nuclear weapon. This has hurt Israel, Saudi and United Arab Emirates (UAE), and other US allies in the Middle East. Against this background, Haley has advised Israel to initiate unilateral action, suggesting not to expect any cooperation from the Biden administration.
