Pakistan, advocating for the Taliban, had claimed a massive difference between the Taliban 20 years ago and today. Taliban also had said that there was a change in them and had assured that the inhumane punishments would not be executed. Taliban had also confirmed that the rights of women and minorities would be not be snatched away.

Taliban had announced that Afghan leaders, former government and diplomatic officials and soldiers from the security agencies would be granted pardon and inducted into the new government. The United States and the European Union made the mistake of believing in the promises made by a terrorist organisation like the Taliban, known for cruelty since its inception. International analysts are showering intense criticism of this decision.

Afghan leaders and international analysts warned that it would be foolish to believe that the Taliban would abide by the promises made after taking over Afghanistan. Taliban started to rule the country in the same style as 20 years ago, after taking control over Afghanistan in August. Taliban has banned education for girls and women. At the same time, reports are being received that it has started dis-housing the members from the minority communities.

At the same time, accusations are being made that the Taliban is killing former soldiers of the Afghan military. The United States and the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Japan have expressed annoyance over this Taliban action. But the United States and the western countries have not expressed willingness to initiate an action against the Taliban, who have betrayed them, in this manner.
