US announces bounty of $5 million on the head of Sajid Mir- one of the masterminds of 26/11It is claimed that Sajid Mir is an officer with the Pakistan military or the notorious Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. It has been exposed that Sajid Mir is roaming openly in Pakistan, despite being on list of most wanted terrorists in the United States. The terrorism report, published by the United States notes that Sajid Mir is there at the Muridke military base in Pakistan. India, as well as the United States, had appealed to Pakistan to cooperate regarding Sajid Mir. But Pakistan replies have always been negative.

Sajid Mir is a very influential terrorist. Media claim that this is why Pakistan is not willing to cooperate in this matter, disregarding the US pressure. But after completion of 12 years for the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the State Department of the United States, who lost six citizens in the attacks, has declared an award of $5 million on the head of Sajid Mir. Anyone giving information, leading to his arrest or evidence for his conviction, will be given this award. Pakistan will face a major hit due to this award. Pakistan is struggling to get delisted from the Grey list of the Financial Action Task Force. The Imran Khan government is crying hoarse that Pakistan is not a terrorist country, but a victim of terrorism. In this scenario, the United States has reminded Pakistan that a dangerous terrorist like Sajid Mir is roaming free in that country. This could ensure Pakistan’s inclusion in the FATF ‘Black List’. Prime Minister Imran Khan had expressed a concern that in that scenario, the Pakistan economy which is already in trouble, will hit the rock-bottom.

Despite this, Pakistan is not willing to give up its acts, to protect the terrorist organisations and their leaders. But given the aggressive diplomatic campaign launched by India, the global attention has been focused on the Pakistan sponsored terrorism. The award announced by the United States on the head of Sajid Mir is a huge success for the Indian diplomatic campaign.
