UN Secretary-General is a mere ‘puppet of the United States’, North Kor

Pyongyang: North Korea’s missile test on Friday drew attention from across the globe. António Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, has warned North Korea to refrain from provocative actions. North Korea’s Foreign Minister Choe Sun Hui has criticised the statement of Guterres and alleged that the statement made by the United Nations secretary indicates that he is a puppet of the United States.

On Friday, North Korea announced the successful testing of a new type of intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) called Hwasong-17. A news agency claimed that North Korea is trying to demonstrate its superiority by testing an ICBM capable of targeting cities in the Far East of the United States.

Kim Jong-un announced that the ICBM test demonstrated North Korea’s preparedness to respond to nuclear provocation. Kim Jong-un has warned the US that North Korea will respond with nuclear weapons against any aggression. He also claimed to possess 40 nuclear warheads.

North Korea has adopted a no-first-use nuclear policy for the past several years. In September, North Korea made a major amendment to its military policy on using nuclear weapons, prioritising the safety of dictator Kim Jong-un. In the past, North Korea has changed its policy of using nuclear weapons directly against an enemy country in case any attack is attempted on dictator Kim Jong-un. Since then, North Korea has twice issued nuclear threats to the US.
