Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky proposes talks to Russia

Kyiv/Moscow: The Ukrainian President has proposed to hold talks with Russia given the extensive military deployment and the rising possibility of an attack. President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed willingness to talk with Russia saying, ‘I don’t know what the president of the Russian Federation wants, so I am proposing a meeting. Ukraine will continue to follow only the diplomatic path for the sake of a peaceful settlement.’ At the same time, Zelensky also claimed that Ukraine would not act against the violent incitement by the Russian supporter rebels in east Ukraine.

As per the claims of the western countries, Russia has deployed nearly 190,000 soldiers on the Ukraine border. Moreover, it is being said that the rebel groups have started attacking in the Donetsk and Luhansk provinces following the Russian deployment. The rebels have begun gathering military personnel in this region and have declared an emergency. A spate of blasts and attacks has started in the region. Besides, two Ukrainian soldiers have reportedly been killed in the attacks.  

Meanwhile, 7,00,000 citizens from eastern Ukraine have been ordered to migrate to Russia. NATO has claimed that this sequence of events is a precursor to the Russian attack on Ukraine.
