New Delhi: – The Indian security forces busted a Pakistani plot to carry out a terror attack similar to the 26/11 Mumbai attacks before the Panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir. This is evident from the arms haul seized from the four Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists killed in an encounter on Thursday morning. Prime Minister Modi praised the security forces for their success in busting the terror plot. The Prime Minister is said to have called a high-level meeting to review the security situation.
11 AK-47 rifles, 29 grenades, three pistols and many other weapons were seized from the four Jaish terrorists that were killed. The terrorists were planning a horrific attack similar to 26/11, on the same date in Jammu and Kashmir. The Jammu and Kashmir police expressed a possibility that these terrorists intended to target educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir and the Panchayat elections. But the security forces intercepted these terrorists in Nagrota in time, and the disaster was averted.
The encounter between the security forces and the terrorists lasted for nearly three hours. All the four terrorists were killed in the encounter. Taking cognisance of this, the Prime Minister praised the high level of bravery and professionalism demonstrated by the security forces. Prime Minister said that the efforts of the security forces had busted a major plot of attacking the democratic process in Jammu and Kashmir. It becomes clear from the reaction of the Prime Minister that the terrorists were planning to target the Panchayat elections.
The Panchayat elections will start in Jammu and Kashmir at the end of November, and the last phase will be held on the 19th of December. The results will be announced on the 22nd of December. There is a dense possibility of a massive response to the elections from the Jammu and Kashmir population. This is making Pakistan panic because Pakistan is spreading disinformation that India is meting out atrocities on the people of Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370. The participation of the local population in the elections would expose the Pakistani claims. The Pakistan military, ISI and terrorist organisations are therefore trying to carry out horrific terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan has made preparations to make the propaganda that the attacks were carried out by local Kashmiri youth. But the Indian security forces have foiled the Pakistani plot. Therefore, the infuriated Pakistan media referred to the terrorists killed in Nagrota as Kashmiri youth and made vitriolic criticism against India. The firing on the Line of Control in Kashmir also is a part of the dangerous Pakistani conspiracy. The Pakistan military is desperate to push terrorists into India under cover of these firings.
Prime Minister Modi has organised a high-level security-related meeting against the background of the Pakistani conspiracy. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla along with senior officials from the intelligence agencies are attending the meeting.
